Entrance to the theatre
There are four entrances to the theatre: main entrance – to the ticket office and the auditorium, back entrance – directly to the workshop hall, two entrances to the restaurant.
The main entrance, from Marszałkowska Street, is marked with a TOTUPOINT digital marker that informs users of TOTUPOINT system about the location of the theatre’s entrance.
At the main entrance there is a step (less than 9 cm high). The door is made of glass, double leaf, and opens manually in both directions (to the inside and outside). One of the door leafs is 74 cm wide and may be too narrow for a person using a wheelchair. Due to this fact, before any events with audience present, the other door leaf will be opened. If for any reason it was closed, on the right side of the glass door there is an intercom available that allows for the porter to be summoned.
Upon entering the theatre, the path on the right leads to a ticket office located in the upper foyer (behind a 70-cm-high counter), while the slope on the left leads to a cloakroom and a lower foyer, where an entrance to the auditorium is located. There are no steps to climb. Due to the fact that there are no handrails throughout a short distance of the foyer, where the floor is not yet level – the ushers are ready to provide assistance in reaching the cloak room.
The back entrance, through the theatre’s parking – directly in the workshop hall – is not available for the audience on a regular basis. It is possible to set up wheelchair rails on the stairs leading from the upper foyer (inside the theatre) to the workshop hall. Due to limited accessibility of the workshop hall, please contact the theatre.
Entrance to the restaurant is located at the sidewalk level and the main door is 85 cm wide. This is a sufficient width for a person using a wheelchair, however the clearance is limited by a counter, thus preventing a person in a wheelchair to enter the restaurant from the street side. The other entrance to the restaurant, without any steps, is located form Emila Zoli Street. The third entrance to the restaurant in located inside the theatre.
Moving around the theatre
In the main section of the theatre there are two floors available to the audience, connected by slopes.
Upon entering, the path on the right leads to a ticket office located in the upper foyer (behind a 70-cm-high counter), while the slope on the left leads to a cloakroom and a lower foyer, where an entrance to the auditorium is located. There are no steps to climb. Due to the fact that there are no handrails throughout a short distance of the foyer on -1 level, where the floor is not yet level – the ushers are ready to provide assistance in reaching the cloak room.
Inclination of the slopes between the entrance level and the balcony level and between the balcony level and the restaurant level is 4% and 10%, accordingly (acceptable). Inclination of the slope between the entry level and the -1 level, where the entrance to the auditorium is located, is approx. 13%. Due to quite high level difference and lack of breakdown of the slope into shorter distances separated by landings, the slope may be too steep for some persons using a wheelchair. Handrails are available only in the lower part of the slope leading to level -1.
Ticket office and the cloakroom
In the theatre there is a ticket office and a cloakroom. The ticket office’s window is placed 70 cm from the floor. The cloakroom’s counter is 90cm high. The Cool Cat TR – adjacent restaurant
Some of the restaurant’s tables comply with the standards for people using wheelchairs. The counter is 90 cm high, therefore it is deemed inaccessible to people using wheelchairs. However, a waiter service is provided.
Toilets in the theatre and the restaurant
A toilet adapted for the needs of a person in a wheelchair is located in the upper foyer, across the ticket office. There is 140cm x 150cm maneuverable space in the theatre’s bathroom. The toilet located in the restaurant is spacious.
Lighting and emergency systems
Lighting in the passageways may be too dim for persons with impaired vision. The emergency system is acoustic only, without visual signals, therefore emergency signals will not be noticeable for deaf people. The elements that are the most important to the audience (entrance to the auditorium and toilets) are marked with labels in Braille system. The ushers are there to provide assistance.
