about the performance
People are riding a tram. To work. Or from work. Or from one job to another. Or perhaps they are already at work.
But what if they never reach their destination? For example, because of an accident…
The accident forces an unexpected pause. For the passengers, time seems to slow down; for the observers, it speeds up dramatically. The characters’ lives remain suspended for a moment in time.
Will the caregiver make it back to the child left unattended? Will the corporate employee find her missing phone? Will the project worker complete yet another idea? Or perhaps everyone will undergo an unexpected transformation, guided by the Trickster — a master of the rules of late capitalism?
Life has not yet decided which version of reality it will choose.
Directed by Julia Nowak, the performance is a polyphonic narrative about work in the age of relentless productivity — its pressures, pace, and instability. It explores the projectariat, care work and emotional labor, and the precarity of both professional and non-professional life (if such a distinction even exists).
There is humor and ironic lightness, but also an underlying existential weight.
