Ewa Dziarnowska is a Berlin-based artist, choreographer, and performer. Working at the intersection of dance, performance, and research, she develops improvisation as a creative method and a way of thinking about bodywork. Her practice focuses on relation, rhythm, attentiveness, and the experience of time, as well as questions surrounding the social and aesthetic frameworks in which dance is created and functions. She has presented her work at festivals and art institutions across Europe, including Sophiensæle in Berlin, Tanzquartier Wien in Vienna, Santarcangelo Festival, MDT Moderna Dansteatern in Stockholm, and the Mind Eater Festival in Oslo. As a performer, she has collaborated with artists such as Alex Baczyński-Jenkins, Michele Rizzo, Enad Marouf, and Elena Francalanci. She is the creator of various choreographic and performance projects, including This resting, patience, which cemented her position on the international contemporary dance scene following its premiere at Berlin’s Sophiensæle.
