Maria Maj wins Best Leading Actress Award at the „Two Theatres – Sopot 2026” Festival.

The Polish Radio Theatre and Polish Television Theatre Festival „Two Theatres” in Sopot has, for 25 years, annually organized a competition for radio dramas and television theatre productions that premiered during the season preceding each edition of the festival.

In the radio drama category, among 16 competition entries, the Grand Prix of the 25th „Two Theatres – Sopot 2026” Festival was awarded to the creators of the radio play „Potop”, submitted by the Polish Radio Theatre: Salcia Hałas for the text, Magdalena Małecka-Wippich for directing, Paweł Szaliński for sound design, the Konkubinat ensemble for the music, and Maria Maj for the leading acting role.

In the theatre production category, the Grand Prix for Best Production was awarded to „Ruda”, written by Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski and Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, and directed by Wawrzyniec Kostrzewski. The production is based on the biography of the painter Małgorzata Sarzyńska. The role of the mother was played by Maria Maj, while the leading role—the painter’s daughter—was portrayed by Olga Sarzyńska, who also received the acting award for Best Female Performance in an original Television Theatre production. „Ruda” was additionally honored with the J. Hajdun Award for Music.

We warmly congratulate all of the creative teams!
