Biography

A TR Warszawa actor. He graduated from the SPOT Acting School in Cracow and passed an extramural exam in Warsaw. He made his debut in The Jan Dorman Zagłębie Children’s Theatre in Będzin and subsequently joined the Polish Stage ensemble of the Cieszyn Theatre in Cieszyn (Czech Republic). From 2001 to 2006 Pawlak appeared on the stage of The Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz, then in The Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Cracow (2006-2008), and since 2008 he has been a member of the TR Warszawa ensemble.

In The Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre he had an opportunity to work with Robert Czechowski, Agata Duda-Gracz, Maja Kleczewska and Michał Siegoczyński. In The Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre he created roles for performances that include: Before/After (2006) dir. by Paweł Miśkiewicz, Zaratustra (2007) dir. by Krystian Lupa, Lulu (2007) dir. by Michał Borczuch and plays directed by Maja Kleczewska: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2006) and Blasted (2007). He has continued his cooperation with Maja Kleczewska during the work on Babel (2010) in The Hieronim Konieczka Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz and Oresteia (2012) in the National Theatre. Pawlak has been awarded many prizes and distinctions, including an honorable mention at the 42nd Kalisz Theatre Meetings for a leading role in the performance Caligula (2002), audience award in The Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre’s plebiscite (2014), special award at the 44th Kalisz Theatre Meetings for the Wieje recital, media award for the role of Orlando in As You Like It at the at the 44th Kalisz Theatre Meetings, best actor award for the title role in Woyzeck at the 46th Kalisz Theatre Meetings (2006) and Grand Prix for his artistic performance in The Bat directed by Kornél Mundruczó at the 53rd Kalisz Theatre Meetings (2013).
