Biography

Actor at TR Warszawa and photographer. A graduate of the Leon Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź.

He made his theatre debut at Teatr Rozmaitości (now TR Warszawa) in the acclaimed production Shopping and Fucking directed by Paweł Łysak (1999), produced by Towarzystwo Teatralne. He also appeared in the company’s second production, Fire in the Head, also directed by Paweł Łysak (1999).

After graduating, he joined the Edmund Wierciński Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław, where he performed in productions including Family Situations directed by Krystyna Meissner (2000), The Story of Jacob directed by Piotr Cieplak (2001), Romeo and Juliet directed by Rimas Tuminas (2001), and Victory directed by Helena Kaut-Howson (2003).

A member of the ensemble of TR Warszawa since 2005, he has created numerous roles in productions directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski, including Cleansed (2001), Dybbuk (2003), and Angels in America (2007), as well as in productions directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna such as 2007: Macbeth (2005), Giovanni (2006), The Lion in Winter (2007), The Second Woman (2014), Other People (2019), and 2020: The Tempest (2020).

He has also appeared in productions directed by Przemysław Wojcieszek, René Pollesch, Michał Borczuch, Krystian Lupa, Katarzyna Kalwat, Krzysztof Garbaczewski, and Grzegorz Jaremko.

His artistic achievements also include performances at Nowy Teatr in (A)pollonia directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski (2009) and at Teatr WARSawy in Your Highness directed by Katarzyna Kalwat (2014).

He is also the creator of video works for Katarzyna Kalwat’s productions Reykjavik ’74 (Wilam Horzyca Theatre in Toruń, 2016) and Grotowski. Non-fiction (co-produced by the Jan Kochanowski Theatre in Opole and the Contemporary Theatre in Wrocław, 2019).

A graduate of the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, Czech Republic, he was a finalist in the 2nd Theatre Photography Competition organized by the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute. His photographs have been exhibited at venues including TR Warszawa, BWA Wrocław, the Kraków Photomonth Festival, and photography festivals in Bratislava and Prague. In 2008, the Theatre Institute published the photography album Tomek Tyndyk / Theatre, featuring photographs taken between 2014 and 2017 during rehearsals and around productions at TR Warszawa and Nowy Teatr.

His film credits include roles in 0_1_0 directed by Piotr Łazarkiewicz (2008), Piggies directed by Robert Gliński (2009), The Secret directed by Przemysław Wojcieszek (2012), Without Mercy directed by Wojciech Wójcik (2012), The Fourth Dimension directed by Jan Kwieciński (2011), In the Bedroom (2012) and United States of Love directed by Tomasz Wasilewski, and Satan Said Dance directed by Katarzyna Rosłaniec (2016). He has also appeared in numerous television series and radio dramas, and took part in television adaptations of 2007: Macbeth directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna and (A)pollonia directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski.

For his role as David in the graduation production Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love (1998), he received the award for Best Male Role at the “Meetings ’99” International Festival of Theatre Schools in Brno and at the 17th Festival of Theatre Schools in Łódź. In 2016, he received the Best Actor Award in the 22nd National Competition for the Staging of Contemporary Polish Drama for his role as Tomasz Sikorski in Holzwege directed by Katarzyna Kalwat.
