„Too Much of Everything” aims to confront the mechanisms that organise work relationships, the dark and bright sides of competitiveness, the terror of deadlines and the omnipresent exhaustion. How is it that we keep on putting off the moment of resting for the so-called later, believing naively that we can endure more (to become ideal and immortal bodies)? Why do we think that the day will last longer, that our lives will withstand more, that the long-awaited praise or reward will finally come from an unknown source and suddenly everything will change? How much work do you have to put in to fulfil the individualistically fuelled desire to be someone special, someone irreplaceable, inimitable?
Work as a factor that most strongly defines our lives, constitutes information that we sometimes provide even before introducing ourselves to someone by name. It is an area where we struggle with our sense of guilt for not doing as much as we would like or could. It is an area where we compete with our own selves. Do you have to run as fast as you can to keep your position in this race, and to run even faster in order to move forward? Is it even possible to reach the finishing line?
